3. HINDUTVA – The Third Renaissance

3.  HINDUTVA – The Third Renaissance (Continued from last post – Hindutva the Genesis.)           Great leaders of the Congress party failed to see the writing on the wall. Jinnah could realize the Hinduism and Islam are like opposite magnetic poles which are incompatible. Therefore, he insisted on creation of Islamic State of Pakistan, but Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru unfortunately lacked this foresight and chose to defy the root principle of partition. You don’t need brains of Einstein to understand it. They should have tried to take lessons from history, as given below:- i)                 The basic principle for partition of India was “Two Nation Theory”, i.e. to say that Muslims must have a separate Nation implying that Islam and Hinduism are incompatible. ii)               How can a religion which says...

2 HINDUTVA – The Genesis

2.        HINDUTVA – The Genesis (Continued from last post – Hindutva the Background.) As time passed, human settlements multiplied. City states, then nations arose. The complexities of life increased manifold. Wealth was created and life became an unending struggle to acquire wealth. Consequently complexities entered religious life also in the form of rituals, dogmas and superstitions. This prepared a fertile ground for philosophers and gurus to propagate. Some of them succeeded in establishing groups of followers which evolved into the present day ‘isms’ with all their sectarian qualities.  Some of the isms were patronized by the state and they chose to spread their state religions through the sword. Barbarians succeeded in scuttling civilized societies which explains the spread of Christianity and Islam. Buddhism and Jainism spread as a reaction to rituals and dogmas which infested Hinduism. After independence, India was divided...

1 HINDUTVA – The Background

1.  HINDUTVA – The Background First subject I dare take is Hindutva! And the contextual background is the simmering acceptance of Hindu nationalism amongst a vast majority of Hindu intelligentsia. The results of 2014 Lok Sabha elections and more recently, those of state legislatures of U.P. and few other states have clearly pointed towards this trend. What is my locus standi or what qualifies me to write on this controversial subject? No, I am not a Dharma Guru, nor a philosopher, not even a man from the RSSS (at least for the time being), yet I am a citizen of India, who is concerned with the development and existence of this great nation. In parenthesis above I have emphasized the phrase ‘for the time being’ purposely. I am keeping my future options open. Though, I shall never be a Guru, for sure. I feel that Gurus function on business textbook models. They create a need and become whole-time professionals and thrive on the gullible people. I am a Hindu, a proud...

A MUFFLED VIEWPOINT – an introduction.

A MUFFLED VIEWPOINT – an introduction. You always wanted to speak out….. and speak out loud !! But then, you could not…! Because, you thought it was not the right moment. Or may be, who would listen, or what people would say. You muffled your ideas deep within you, which got buried deep in your psyche. These ideas and thoughts can die of asphyxia if not brought out fast. Yes. And I am no exception. As a kid I learned to accept that whatever I said carries no weight with grown-ups. When I tried, people would brush me aside derisively, “Bachha hai…” As an adolescent I believed, and rightly so, that language is a big hurdle. I un-knowingly fell to some sort of inferiority complex, when I used to see boys and girls from convent schools chit-chatting fluently in English and developed a covert disdain for the language. At that time Hindi was struggling to gain respectability. Then, like any other young man, I joined the struggle to earn a decent living – a govt....
